I sat down five minutes ago and banged out a complete walkthrough for Freelance Alchemist, my latest game on E4.com.

Like us Americans, this walkthrough is large, opinionated, and formatted in plain text.

I know I asked people to email me if they find any bugs in this text adventure game, but being boring is not an bug. Please stop sending me emails regarding that.

No one has asked me what other games have influenced me in creating this game. In response, I’d have to say the King’s Quest series was a big influence. Though I think I only played one of those games, and then only a few times.

I may not have 100% captured its spirit, or playability.

What’s with Dwarf Fortress getting all popular? Weird, right? I think I could dig an underground fortress faster in real life.

A lot of people have asked “how do you get by the snake? i hate the snake and i hate you”. Pictured above is the most effective way to not be blinded by the snake.

Looking back I’m definitely pleased with the look of this game, but have to admit some issues with the flow of gameplay. It definitely needed more directional arrows.

Instead of an indignant refusal, he vowed to get to work on it right away as long as I could produce a suitable mock-up for reference.

I was hoping WP-reCAPTCHA would help block the traffic. It apparently did not.

If anyone is interested, this isn’t a new problem, it just seem gradual spamming overtime has built up to this level. The askimet plugin is working fine, but I’d prefer this volume of spam not have to go through the database at all. If anyone has had experience with this and has advice let me know.
