Frequently I mail out spec scripts to television shows I would love to work on, and am just as often roundly rejected in some less than polite manner.

Here is the gist of my failed bid to write an episode of King of the Hill.

If you read this comic you know a friend of mine fled to Bulgaria for seven years to avoid prosecution for various alcohol-related crimes. As he is a Harry Potter fan, I sent him the last book so he didn’t have to learn the native language to read it. Also I jammed in a bunch of drawings. Here are some of them. Once in a while I will clean up the office and find some sketches for what, at the time, was no doubt a fully fleshed idea. Sometimes these sketches get buried for a long time, and when I find them, I have no idea what I was supposed to turn them into. Like this:

As best I can tell, this is a man struggling to poop out a monkey (and he does). Now that I think about it this idea needs no further elaboration.
